Barbara is a double Longhorn, receiving both her J.D. and undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of the Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and worked with the Legislative Affairs Committee of the section for fifteen Texas Legislative Sessions, providing research and reporting on proposed legislation relating to Wills, Trusts, Estates, Guardianship, Elder Law, and Mental Health issues. Prior to joining Saunders and Near, Barbara worked at Stanley M. Johanson, P.C., assisting with complex estate planning and probate matters.

A lifelong Austinite, Barbara values the Austin community. She and her husband, Tim, have three adult sons and through the years have served in leadership roles in neighborhood schools, their church, and scouting. Barbara appreciates the role that thoughtful estate planning and supportive estate administration play in strengthening families and contributing to the collective well-being of the Austin community.
